The Molecular Technologist will perform complex and diverse molecular assays in accordance with established procedures. With support from a supervisor, exercise sound judgment to troubleshoot lab procedures in order to produce accurate results. Individuals may serve as point person, or technical lead for a particular assay. Prepares technical reports. Recognizes assay related problems and escalates appropriately. May assist with general laboratory support including organizing and filling samples and solution preparation. May participate in training less experienced technologists.
B.A./B.S. in Biological/Chemical sciences with strong understanding of molecular genetics and general chemistry
1 to 5 years of experience of lab testing experience in the diagnostics production laboratory
Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of laboratory practices
The Integrated Genetics Division of LabCorp is seeking a Molecular Technologist to join their Molecular Diagnostics team! The technologist will be responsible for testing patient sample DNA from a myriad of sample types. This position will have first shift hours from 08:00AM -- 4:30PM, Monday through Friday
Under supervision, perform specific DNA sequencing assays.
Maintain internal documentation for all steps of the processes as outlined in SOPs.
Coordinate work assignments and be able to prioritize independently.
Troubleshoot assays and reagent qualification issues.
Participate in a team approach to workflow management of the lab.
Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts.
