Laboratory Corporation of America Data Entry Specialist / Accessioner (Medical Field) in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Integrated Genetics is seeking a Data Entry Specialist/Accessioner to join its team in Santa Fe, NM. Integrated Genetics is a division of laboratory Corporation of America and is dedicated to providing quality patient care. The Data Entry Specialist/Accessioner is responsible for manually entering testing data requests into the Laboratory Information Management system, and sort and prepares samples for pick up.   • Accurately enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System. Prepare and organize written data, reports, and other documents

  • Responsible for the presorting, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory

  • Unpack specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to various staging areas

  • Prepare all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations

  • Triage specimens for routing to appropriate processing locations.

  • Prepare excess specimen samples for storage and resolves and document problem specimens

  • Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure integrity of laboratory specimens and accurate data entry


  • High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with data entry or accessioning experience

  • Ability to type at a minimum of 5000 key strokes per hour is required

  • Must be able to read and understand complex directions

  • Ability to follow lab safety practices when working with hazardous materials

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards determined by the clinical laboratory

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

  • Ability to work the following shift: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am to 4:45pm, with overtime and rotating Mondays.
