Laboratory Corporation of America Director, Core Laboratory Support Services in San Diego, California

LabCorp is recruiting for a Director of Core Laboratory Support Services to join our team. This position will lead support service operations (departments, functions, and teams) for the regional core laboratory based in San Diego, CA. This position is a member of the West Division Laboratory Operations Leadership Team.


  • Execute the laboratories strategic and current business plans and budgets to ensure the regional laboratory can respond to year-over-year growth forecasts

  • Drive continued growth and innovate services that enhance customer relationships

  • Represent the company through relationships and communicate a clear vision to internal and external clients, patients, vendors, and teams

  • Lead daily regional laboratory support operations to advance strategy, culture, talent development, and operations with an emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and quality

  • Provide thought leadership in the development and execution of strategic plans

  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and international regulations

  • Assist in the development, mentoring, and professional growth of members of a large, diverse team

  • Collaborate and foster open communication within the core regional and esoteric laboratories, divisional operations, and divisional business development team members

  • Plan, execute, and integrate initiatives for change and laboratory improvements

  • Attend regional operational and/or regional business development meetings as required

  • Build and foster an environment of excellence and inclusion by assessing current talent and developing a high-performance team while establishing a clear focus of superior client services

  • Provide team members with authority, training, information, and resources to achieve their full potential and maintain a culture of accountability and execution


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of progressive responsibilities in a healthcare related field

  • Previous experience running laboratory operations; experience with hospital-based lab operations is highly preferred not required

  • Strong technical knowledge of laboratory science and supply chain

  • Proven success in leading change, developing talent, and service excellence

  • Inspiring leadership presence and emotional intelligence with the ability to influence at all levels across the organization

  • Ability to effectively present and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence and a winning culture




Monday - Friday, 6am-3pm
