We are seeking a Flow Cytometry Analyst to join our Research Triangle Park location alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.
The schedule for this position will be Wednesday - Saturday, 8:00am - 6:30pm
Performs routine high complexity analyses and interpretations of flow cytometry dot plots in the testing of leukemia/lymphoma specimens.
Properly performs and documents quality assurance, quality control.
Properly prioritizes samples according to policy.
Operates equipment as needed to complete testing.
Sample preparation performed as needed.
Adheres to all safety, quality control and documentation policies.
Recognizes problems that may adversely affect patient care and takes appropriate action.
Participates in required Continuing Education activities.
Serves as an example and resource to other testing laboratory personnel.
Assists in training of personnel.
Shows willingness to perform duties until they are complete.
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requires a B.A./B.S.
Must possess or be eligible for MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification. The ASCP certification exam must be passed before hire date.
1 year of clinical experience
Flow experience is a plus
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Expertise in data analysis is preferred along with basic knowledge of wet lab duties and instrument troubleshooting.
The ability to recognize normal populations from abnormal, aberrant, or unexpected populations and perform basic level of result interpretations is a plus.
