Laboratory Corporation of America Flow Cytometry Analyst - Technologist in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

We are seeking a Flow Cytometry Analyst to join our Research Triangle Park location alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient.

The schedule for this position will be Friday - Monday, 8am - 6:30pm

  • Performs routine high complexity analyses and interpretations of flow cytometry dot plots in the testing of leukemia/lymphoma specimens.

  • Properly performs and documents quality assurance, quality control.

  • Properly prioritizes samples according to policy.

  • Operates equipment as needed to complete testing.

  • Sample preparation performed as needed.

  • Adheres to all safety, quality control and documentation policies.

  • Recognizes problems that may adversely affect patient care and takes appropriate action.

  • Participates in required Continuing Education activities.

  • Serves as an example and resource to other testing laboratory personnel.

  • Assists in training of personnel.

  • Shows willingness to perform duties until they are complete.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a B.A./B.S.

  • Must possess or be eligible for MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification. The ASCP certification exam must be passed before hire date.

  • 1 year of clinical experience

  • Flow experience is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Expertise in data analysis is preferred along with basic knowledge of wet lab duties and instrument troubleshooting.

  • The ability to recognize normal populations from abnormal, aberrant, or unexpected populations and perform basic level of result interpretations is a plus.
