Laboratory Corporation of America Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
The Integrated Oncology Division is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee to join their Cytogenetics team! Assays performed in the Cytogenetics Department utilize a variety of scientific techniques, including specimen culturing, slide preparation, and chromosome analysis.
Perform culture initiation, harvesting of cells, staining slides from peripheral blood, tissue, and bone marrow oncology specimens.
Analyze of chromosomes, which may include imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.
Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis as needed and summarizes test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature.
Perform QA/QC duties in the lab.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
Additional duties as assigned.

- B.A./B.S. in Biology or relatable life science to include completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math
1 year of clinical OR research lab experience
2nd Shift 1:00PM --9:30PM Tuesday -- Saturday
