Laboratory Corporation of America Lab Manager I (Phoenix) in Phoenix, Arizona
Are you a Leader with laboratory technical expertise and operational know how? LabCorp is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to join our busy Phoenix, AZ lab location! This position will have critical technical, operational, and financial responsibilities over multiple labs involving 24 hour operations and comprised of over 300 employees.
In this role you will lead, coach, and motivate a team that is saving the lives of patients every day. You will employ business strategies and use your testing expertise to effect the overall growth of your lab and our business. Our labs test and process thousands of specimen samples from all over the globe daily, use state of art technology, and are in the forefront of the challenging world of specialty diagnostics.
Although the schedule for this role is Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
Providing technical and operational oversite to 4 high volume departments: COVID, Allergy, NuSwab, and Special Coagulation
Ensure efficient workflow and production are being carried out throughout all shifts for OT reduction and meeting TAT goals.
Provide technical and operational guidance and support to Technical Supervisors
Manage first-line supervisor(s) and/or professional staff.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency standards, including CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, and OSHA while working closely with the Medical Director.
Perform competency assessments, providing continuing education, and maintaining positive morale of laboratory staff
Attend staff and management meetings and overseeing daily lab operations
Establish and maintain laboratory performance criteria
Must have a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science as required by CLIA.
Master's Degree in related science and/or ASCP certification preferred
7 years of clinical laboratory experience
5 years in a lab leadership role with direct reports preferred
Infectious Disease, Immunology, or Molecular testing expertise strongly preferred
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
Flexibility to work other shifts as needed
Excellent in time management and organization.
Must be able to pass a standard Color Vision screening.
