Laboratory Corporation of America Supervisor - Hostipal Services in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • SOP preparation, maintenance, and distribution to AP satellite operations

  • Collecting, analyzing, and providing monthly QA metrics for each site and all associated pathologists

  • Assisting with daily/weekly preventive maintenance responsibilities for each site

  • Assisting with annual maintenance requirements and service needs for all offsite equipment and instruments

  • Assisting with offsite AP operations inspections which includes CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, and multiple site internal inspections.

  • Support Labcorp staff in meeting pathology service requirements in the HCA MWD Hospital system

  • Provide an additional Labcorp resource to numerous offsite hospitals, laboratories, and surgery centers in elevating provided pathology services

  • Work closely with the OPS AP team in streamlining operational standards and implementing process improvement initiatives

  • Work with Labcorp AP team to provide a quick response contact and resource for unannounced inspections of offsite satellite AP operations

  • Assist with training hospital nursing and technical staff in pathology specimen collection processes and other related AP operations

  • Work with the Labcorp offsite team in AP supplies maintenance and distribution

  • Partner with the Labcorp Manager of Hospital Services in the development and provision of top tier pathology services


  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a Science related major

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience

  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plus

  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations

  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills

  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment

  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position




M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm
