Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing.
Unpacks specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to various staging areas.
Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations such as staging of specimens, centrifuge, separate serum, and blood smears. Aliquots sample for departments.
Prepares excess specimen samples for storage and resolves and document problem specimens.
At the end of the application process there is a 5 minute timed data entry test. This test must be completed to be considered for this position. This must be taken on a computer or a laptop. It CANNOT be taken on a smart phone or tablet. I recommend you use a computer that has a 10-key pad.*
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience.
Strong Attention to Detail
Fast and accurate Data Entry Skills
Prior production/repetitive type of work experience
Prior medical experience/knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Ability to work independently within a team environment
Ability to focus on tedious tasks for long periods of time
Ability to work mandatory overtime (averages 5 hours a week) as required.
Monday through Friday 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM
