Laboratory Corporation of America Molecular Diagnostics Specialist (3rd shift) Los Angeles, CA in Los Angeles, California

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on R&D related projects through the development process

  • Assist in transferring improved products to the laboratory

  • Perform various validations and report accurate findings

  • Support operations by troubleshooting and optimizing assays

  • Coach and assist laboratory staff on newly developed procedures

  • Serve as first line of defense for resolving problems in the laboratory

  • Perform and maintain schedules for preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment

  • Communicate hardware/reagent/consumable issues directly to manufacturers

  • Assist in programming laboratory automation

  • Make mechanical repairs to laboratory hardware

  • Assist quality team in resolving any laboratory problems

  • Maintain equipment records and logs


  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a Science related major

  • 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician

  • Strong understanding of multiplex PCR

  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plus

  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment

  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position

  • Perform administrative duties as needed




Tuesday - Saturday (11:00pm - 7:30am)
