Laboratory Corporation of America Forensic DNA Analyst in Lorton, Virginia

  • Perform DNA analysis on evidentiary and/or reference samples as part of Bode Cellmark's forensic casework; * May include performing serological screening tests on evidentiary samples; * Analyze and interpret forensic biology and/or DNA results using established interpretation guidelines * Document and report forensic biology and/or DNA analysis results and/or conclusions * Testify in court as needed to the results of forensic biology and/or DNA analysis performed * Maintain chain of custody; * Maintain proficiency in forensic biology and/or DNA analysis procedures * Meet or exceed continuing education requirements annually and complete ongoing reading of industry literature


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in biology, chemistry, or forensic science related area; * Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic science preferred; * Candidates must have successfully completed 9+ credits in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology and have coursework or training in statistics or population genetics; * A minimum of 1 year paid laboratory experience in a forensic lab required; familiarity with accreditation standards is a plus * Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills;
