Laboratory Corporation of America Histotechnologist in Lincoln, Nebraska
Performs technical duties related to production of histolopathological slides to include embedding, microtomy, staining, and filing.
Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves histology related inquiries and problems within the laboratory and for LabCorp-s clients.
Embed human tissue.
Perform routine and special microtomy procedures.
Perform routine and special stains.
Prepare and discard reagents and material per lab guidelines
Operate and maintain tissue processors, embedding instruments and automated staining instruments.
Perform preventive maintenance on all histological instruments.
Maintain logs, QC routine and special stains.
Follow all technical standard operating procedures.
Perform additional job functions required and requested by lab supervisor/manager/director.
Additional duties as assigned.
Experience in histology is preferred, but will train the ideal candidate.
License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a Bachelor's Degree w/1-3 years of experience in Histology and meet all licenses necessary for Histology or Associates Degree with 5+ years experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Life Science/Biology preferred.
Mon-Fri 5 AM to 1 PM Rotating Saturdays/On-Call
