Laboratory Corporation of America Histologist Trainee in Lincoln, Nebraska

We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our Pathology laboratory located in Lincoln, NE alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Please note, you will need to provide official sealed transcripts as well as documentation for any applicable certification to secure employment with LabCorp

The schedule for this position will be 5am-1pm Monday - Friday. 40 hours per week. Rotate Saturday and on call shifts.

Job Responsibilities

Performs all technical duties related to the production of histo-pathological slides to include but not limited to:

  • Embed human tissue

  • Perform routine and special microtomy procedures

  • Perform routine and special stains

  • Prepare and discard reagents and material per lab guidelines

  • Operate and maintain tissue processors, embedding instruments and automated staining instruments

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all histological instruments

  • Maintain logs, QC routine and special stains

  • Follow all technical standard operating procedures

  • Perform additional job functions required and requested by lab supervisor/manager/director

  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Science/Biology.

  • Experience in histology is preferred, but will train the ideal candidate.

  • Lab experience is preferred

  • Experience with routine histology procedures and equipment

  • Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus

  • Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens

  • Ability to accurately read all labels and documents

  • Ability to work independently within a team and strong attention to detail

  • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable

  • Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocol




5am-1pm Monday - Friday. 40 hours per week. Rotate Saturday and on call shifts.
