LabCorp is seeking aSr. Programmer/Analyst (Java Developer) for it's Burlington, NC location. This position will be responsible for preparing detailed specifications from which computer programs will be written. Designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents those programs. Analyzes, reviews and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt new requirements. Provides on call support for production and production systems. Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Provides ongoing application support and participates in development efforts. May function as a project leader in managing assigned projects.

The Sr. Programmer/Analyst (Java Developer) will design, develop and maintain Web applications for Clinical Trials and laboratory systems. The duties of this position include the following:

  • Working closely with internal staff to understand functional software requirements

  • Estimating, designing, developing and verifying software solutions to meet immediate technical goals in context of corporate business priorities

  • Knowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into technical application designs and code

  • Developing and maintaining product documentation

  • Provide technical feedback on specific product features and designs

  • Conversant working knowledge of SQL

  • Fluency with Java in multiple web application frameworks

  • Experience with at least one RDBMS -- MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server

Requirements

License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science w/6+ years of experience.

7-15 years of hands on work experience in the specific technologies listed below:

  • Java (J2SE, JEE) design and development

  • Java Server Pages (JSP)

  • Java Frameworks

  • Oracle (SQL and PL/SQL)

  • Oracle WebLogic
