The Middleware Engineering team at LabCorp is seeking a talented and motivated Middleware Engineer for an exciting opportunity. You will be responsible for the middleware infrastructure and will leverage technology to drive innovation to meet the needs of the business for LabCorp's Middleware Engineering team.
The Middleware Engineer will work closely with the architecture, development, DevOps, QA, and application support teams to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure environment. The Middleware Engineer will be involved in the migration of changes from development to production throughout the project lifecycle. The individual will leverage automation technologies to rapidly deliver environments while maintaining configuration management across the enterprise. The Middleware Engineer will work closely with other members of the Middleware team to administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the infrastructure and will share in the on-call support rotation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the middleware infrastructure
Support day to day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for any issues that arise with administered systems
Provide technical support to application developers and operations support staff, including the promotion and use of best practices, ensuring standardization across applications and troubleshooting
Experience using automation technologies such as Ansible to automate server builds, installation, configuration, and change management
Experience supporting IBM WebSphere Application Sever, IBM Integration Bus, IBM MQ, IBM DataPower
Gateway, and IBM API Connect
Experience supporting web servers such as Apache or Nginx
Experience supporting application servers such as Apache Tomcat, Node.js, or Red Hat JBoss
Experience supporting .NET applications and liS administration
Experience supporting application load testing and performance tuning applications
Solid understanding of network topology and technologies such as firewalls, load-balancers, DNS, VPN, NAT
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with strong organization and planning skill-set
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Experience working with containers and supporting micro-service architectures
Experience and strong knowledge of DevOps
Experience supporting and troubleshooting Java applications, SOA, web services (REST and SOAP)
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies and process flows
Experience working in Agile Teams and Daily Serums
Experience working within a hybrid cloud deployment model
License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a minimum of a B.S. Degree in a related field, but prefer 10 years of experience in Web analysis and development or other e business.
Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, or computer science is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of information technology experience, including architecture and design experience in middleware and cloud environments. 5+ years is preferred.
