Laboratory Corporation of America Lead Network Engineer in Durham, North Carolina
Reporting to the Data Center Network IT Manager, the qualified candidate will provide corporate computing professionals with Data Center Network support, including advanced connectivity solutions and high performance access to business applications. The candidate should be familiar with data center networking fundamentals. The engineer will provide suitable and cost-effective solutions to corporate data communications requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with design, development, implementation and maintenance of global data centers including monitoring and management
Design and implement data center network infrastructure and strategies to include Core/Distribution/Access as well as Spine Leaf (working knowledge of Arista switching technologies is a plus)
Build robust and redundant load balancing solutions for data center applications using network load balancer technologies (F5 LTM and ASM is a plus)
Troubleshooting as Tier 3+ for data center network support, including all layers of OSI network using common network trouble shooting tools and methods
Assist with the evaluation, development, testing and installation of network data center communications servicing software
Effectively communicate and engage with teams in technical discussions
Assist with the evaluation, development, testing, and installation of network data communications servicing software
Produce documentation and procedures for installed designs
Provide support for corporate data communications equipment configuration and installation needs, including fault localization and remediation for distance communication failures
Provide support to remote corporate installations for transmission performance concerns
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain a working knowledge of current industry technology and Information Systems trends by self-study and with participation in related courses, seminars, and conferences
Participate in duty rotation of 7-day by 24-hour on-call support
Perform other related duties as assigned Desirables

Working knowledge of VXLAN
Working knowledge of Arista switching with Linux scripting
Working knowledge of Arista CloudVision
Working Knowledge of private cloud deployments
Requirements
Education Requirements: Minimum of CCNA Certification with 7+ years of experience or at least 5+ years of experience with Data Center Networks or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Qualified candidates will have work experience with Data Communications tools, Packet Sniffers, and Network Management tools.
Job Dimensions: The candidate must have a strong interest and working knowledge in contemporary Data Center Networking components, design, and connectivity solutions, and in data network performance modeling and monitoring; exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and oral communication skills. The individual must be timely, dependable and cooperative within a team environment.
