Laboratory Corporation of America Certified Pathology Assistant - Cincinnati, OH in Cincinnati, Ohio
Provides assistance in the interpretation of histologic specimens; and technical advice upon request. Performs complex postmortem examinations and autopsies on received tissue specimens within the histology laboratory; and gross dissections of all surgical specimens.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 5:00am to 1:30pm, Saturday and Sunday as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Perform complex examinations on received tissue samples within the histology laboratory
Perform gross dissections of all surgical specimens
Provide assistance in the interpretation of histologic specimens
Provide technical advice upon request
Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reporting
Requirements
Must be qualified as high complexity testing personnel under CLIA-88 regulations. The minimum training/experience required of such personnel is: An earned associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution, OR Education/training equivalent from an accredited institution. This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination. Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment. Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures. Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes
Excellent computer skills; experience with an LIS. Strong communication skills; both written and verbal. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Prior experience grossing hospital specimens and reference lab specimens required.
