Laboratory Corporation of America Technologist (3rd Shift) in Burlington, North Carolina
We are seeking a Technologist to join our Allergy lab team in Burlington, NC! Assays performed in the in our department utilize a variety of scientific techniques including EIA, IFA, and other non-automated and automated procedures. Open to entry level and senior level technologist candidates.
This position will have third shift hours from Friday-Monday 7:00PM-5:30AM.
Performs routine and moderate to complex tests and analyses according to established procedures in designated technical department.
Preparation of serum blood and/or urine samples for analysis by LC/MS.
Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors and unusual results; interpret results to produce a final report.
Evaluates new procedures or methods under direct supervision of department supervisor or group leader.
Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled and as needed maintenance and critical function checks recognizing significant changes in instrument function; trouble shoot as indicated.
Perform required QC/QA duties including: following quality control rules; monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action; maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.
Perform SRS and reference accept functions as required.
Assists in training and orientation of personnel as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Must have a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science
1-4+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to work in a large lab setting and communicate effectively through email
Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
