Laboratory Corporation of America Paralegal/Administrative in Burlington, North Carolina

Assists attorneys in execution of their legal responsibilities. Conducts research and resolves routine law questions under direction of attorneys. Prepares agreements, instruments, documents, and pleasing relating to litigation and non-litigation matters.

Individual to provide assistance to the Law Department, with the ability to provide a broad range of legal support for business operations. The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in the execution of their legal responsibilities, including conducting research, resolving routine law questions under the direction of attorneys, coordinating and preparing a variety of agreements, instruments, and documents on a worldwide basis, and coordinating signatures.

  • Provide a variety of administrative duties for the Law Department, including clerical functions such as loading documents into the company's contract management system, assigning contract reviews per guidelines, scheduling of appointments, conference calls, and travel from time to time, and handling of and assisting with specific projects as assigned by the manager. The position requires thorough knowledge of company operations, policies and procedures.

  • Interact directly with internal counsel, as well as liaise with company representatives.

  • Ability to work in a high-pace and high-volume work environment, with excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, and superior organization, and project management are necessary for success in this role. The candidate should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a team environment, but is confident with exercising independent judgment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams preferred, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook experience is required. Administrative: Performs a variety of administrative duties for a designated department including clerical functions, answering telephones, maintaining logs/records, training employees, using computerized databases, researching information, and other projects as assigned by the manager.

  • Organizational skills, proficiency with numbers, time management, written and verbal communication skills, and Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook experience. Microsoft Teams experience preferred.

Requirements

License/Certification/Education: Normally an Associate's Degree w/2-4 years of experience. Administrative experience is a plus.
