Laboratory Corporation of America Medical Laboratory Technician (Hematology) in Burlington, North Carolina
LabCorp is seeking a Technician or Technologist to join our Hematology lab team in Burlington, NC! Assays performed in the Hematology area include CBC, urinalysis, fluid cell count and differential, coagulation, A1c, ESR, semen analysis, and multiple manual and specialized tests, with the overall goal of providing results that can be used in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of illness and disease states. We are currently looking for someone who has or is looking to gain experience in Hematology testing.
This position will have 3rd shift hours from 11:30pm- 8:00am Monday --Friday.
Evaluate specimens and test orders, determine priority of work to maintain acceptable turn-around-time, recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle appropriately.
Perform routine and moderate to complex tests and analyses according to established procedures in designated technical department.
Perform testing on biological, quality control, and proficiency samples.
Maintain and clean instrumentation, perform scheduled and as needed maintenance, troubleshoot as indicated.
Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy, recognize and correct errors and unusual results, interpret results to produce a final report.
Manage the movement of materials/samples that are being processed.
Have the ability to cross train on multiple assays.
Have the ability to create an effective work flow with effective time management.
Other duties as assigned by management.
- This position requires an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent preferred w/1-3 years' experience, or a Medical Technologist Degree or equivalent and city/state licenses or permits to qualify as a Technologist w/4+ years of experience in a Clinical Laboratory. Must meet CLIA requirements.
3rd Shift Monday - Friday, 11:30pm - 8:00am
