Laboratory Corporation of America Internal Auditor in Burlington, North Carolina
Audits the accounting and financial records of various departments for management to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy, and efficiency of operations.
Identifies improper accounting or documentation and researches issues and makes recommendations to improve policies and procedures.
Obtains an understanding of the operating and internal control procedures of the more complex functions within the organizational unit, following the procedures established in the audit program.
Verifies the operating and internal control procedures through validation testing.
Plans and conducts complex reviews of financial data and operating procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with government guidelines and laws
Prepares reports on findings and recommends improvements in policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Assists outside auditors in audits of the company's operations.
Conducts special studies of specific operations requiring the development of data, interpretation of intangible or unusual factors, summarization of findings and presentation of recommendation and suggestions.
Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
Minimum 2+ years of experience performing duties related to accounting and finance
1+ year experience reviewing reports and drawing conclusions on data findings
Proficiency utilizing MS Office Suites- Excel to create and modify spreadsheets and Word to create and modify documents
Ability to travel 20%
Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm in Burlington, NC
MBA or Graduate Level Degree
Minimum 1 -3 years external or internal auditing experience
Possess one or more of the following certifications: CPA/CCSA/CFE/CIA
Experienced using Peoplesoft, AutoAudit, and /or Spotfire
Ability to work independently, yet contribute to a team
Ability to balance and prioritize task and projects
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to communicate interpersonally with internal and external clients.
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
